Library Map of the World Content Areas

    Data Map

    A global map featuring metrics pertinent to libraries across the world. Users can view country data and generate custom pdf reports that apply the user’s settings and selectons.

    Impacts Map

    Similar to the global metric map, the impacts map shows how libraries are supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

    Impact Stories

    Libraries feature impact stories that support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Localized translations of each story are available.

    Country Profiles

    Socio-economic metrics and an overview of local library policy make up the Country Profile pages.

    Contributors

    This map shows all of the contributors to the website as well as the type of data they shared with IFLA.

Requirements

  • By integrating a custom cms for data management, IFLA can continue to grow the site by updating metrics and adding new data.

  • The site is translated into six different languages and includes localized translations on every impact story.

  • Users can generate PDF reports and share data views on social media.

Impacts

  • As of July 2024, there have been 207 data contributors from 150 countries

  • Users from 94% of the world (183 countries) visited the site within the first six months of launching

  • The site initially had two Impact Stories, today there are 58

  • 2.8 million libraries have been recorded on the global data map
